The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) says it has secured commitments from 24 organizations to support the Genesis Mission, a national effort aimed at using artificial intelligence to accelerate scientific discovery, strengthen national security and drive energy innovation.

In an announcement from Washington, the DOE says the agreements mark the launch of a new wave of public-private partnerships designed to build scalable AI infrastructure for science, following President Trump’s executive order to remove barriers to American leadership in artificial intelligence.

The Genesis Mission is intended to apply AI across core scientific disciplines, including experiment design, simulations and predictive modeling, with the goal of speeding breakthroughs in energy, manufacturing, drug discovery and other strategic areas.

Says White House Office of Science and Technology Policy Director Michael Kratsios,

“Harnessing cutting-edge AI for science will dramatically increase the productivity of American scientists and researchers.”

According to the DOE, the participating organizations have either responded to a formal request for information or already maintain active projects with the department and US national laboratories. Any technologies developed under the Genesis Mission will be architecture-agnostic.

The organizations signing memorandums of understanding include:

    • Accenture
    • AMD
    • Anthropic
    • Armada
    • Amazon Web Services
    • Cerebras
    • CoreWeave
    • Dell
    • DrivenData
    • Google
    • Groq
    • Hewlett-Packard Enterprise
    • IBM
    • Intel
    • Microsoft
    • NVIDIA
    • OpenAI
    • Oracle
    • Periodic Labs
    • Palantir
    • Project Prometheus
    • Radical AI
    • xAI
    • XPRIZE

Says DOE Under Secretary for Science and Genesis Mission Director, Dr. Darío Gil,

“These agreements help advance President Trump’s Executive Order to build the national AI platform for scientific discovery and uplift the entire US R&D ecosystem.”
