Google Expands AI Plus Worldwide, Undercutting Rivals With $7.99 Monthly Price

Google AI Plus is now available everywhere its AI plans are offered, launching in 35 new countries and territories, including the United States, and replacing what had previously been a more limited rollout tied to Google One plans.

In a new update, the company says the new tier is designed to bundle access to its most advanced AI models and tools at a lower price point, targeting everyday productivity, research and creative use cases rather than enterprise customers.

Google AI Plus includes access to Gemini 3 Pro and Nano Banana Pro inside the Gemini app, along with AI filmmaking tools in Flow, research and writing assistance in NotebookLM and other AI-powered features across Google’s ecosystem. The plan also comes with 200GB of cloud storage and allows benefits to be shared with up to five family members.

In the US, Google AI Plus is priced at $7.99 per month, with a limited-time promotion offering new subscribers 50% off for the first two months. Google says existing Google One Premium 2TB subscribers in supported countries will automatically receive access to Google AI Plus benefits in the coming days.

Google’s new price point undercuts higher-priced competitors that offer AI subscriptions for $20 or more. ChatGPT Plus, Anthropic’s Claude Pro and Perplexity Pro are being offered to consumers at about $20/month for access to advanced models and features. Meanwhile, xAI’s Grok is priced at around $30 per month for expanded use. Copilot and similar AI assist plans, such as Microsoft 365 Copilot, often sit in the $30–$99/month range.
