Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang says the next evolution of work will blur the line between human employees and artificial ones, and that the companies adapting fastest will be the ones that learn to manage both.
Speaking at the Citadel Securities Future Of Global Markets 2025 event, Huang says every organization will eventually need to train and “onboard” its own digital workforce, a process that mirrors how companies currently bring in new hires.
“The fact of the matter is we take pride in onboarding employees. And how the method by which you do so, the culture by which you bring them into, the philosophies of your company, the operating methods, the practices, that makes your company what it is.
The collection of data and knowledge that you’ve embodied over time that you make accessible to them. And so that is what defines a company in the past. A company of the future includes that, of course, but you need to do that for AI.”
Huang also explains how companies can begin onboarding digital employees.
“You need to onboard digital. You need to onboard AI employees. There’s methodology for onboarding AI employees. We call them fine-tuning, but basically teaching them the culture of, the knowledge of, the skills of, evaluation methods, and so the entire flywheel of your agentic employee is something that you need to go and learn how to do.”
The Nvidia CEO adds that employees in the future will serve as the human resource department or guardians of AI agents.
“I tell my CIO, our company’s IT department, they’re going to be the HR department of agentic AI in the future.”
He says AI agents will not replace humans entirely but will collaborate with them, forming hybrid organizations defined by both biological and digital labor.
“Those digital employees are going to work with our, of course, biological ones. And that’s going to be the shape of our company in the future. And so if you get a chance to do that, I would do that right away.”
