A new survey by the data analysis firm Blue Rose Research (BRR) finds that most Americans are worried about their financial future, just as AI arrives with the threat of massive job displacement.
In its AI Is Colliding With America’s Affordability Crisis report, BRR polled 6,265 American voters between December 8th and 9th, 2025, to gain insights on the state of their finances amid the rise of artificial intelligence.
The firm says America’s affordability crisis runs deep, with 61% reporting that their life has become less affordable than a year ago, and just 25% saying they are confident about their financial future.
According to BRR, a vast majority believe that the cause of their economic hardship is a rigged American system. About 64% of respondents say things in America are rigged for the elite, where big corporations and the wealthy play by their own rules, and only they can get ahead.
Meanwhile, only 26% say things in America are mostly fair for everyone, and people can get ahead if they work hard and play by the rules. About 10% say they are not sure.

American sentiment about the country’s affordability comes as voters express concern about AI job losses. According to BRR’s survey, 79% of respondents are concerned that young people entering the workforce are finding fewer jobs because of AI, with 77% saying they’re worried that AI is eliminating entire industries faster than new ones can be created.
About 72% say they are concerned that AI is driving down wages, while 56% note that they or someone they know might lose their job to automation in the next 12 months.
Despite these concerns, 79% say they’re worried that the government is not doing enough to protect them from AI job loss.
