A new Fox News poll shows that AI is on the list of voter concerns, but it still trails far behind core economic and security issues.
The survey, which polled 1,001 registered voters between March 20th and 23rd, 2026, finds Americans’ top worry is inflation, with 86% saying they are either extremely or very concerned about rising prices of goods and services.
Inflation is followed by healthcare at 81%, gas prices at 80%, political divisions at 80% and unemployment at 73%. AI is close to the bottom of the list, tied with Iran getting a nuclear bomb, at 66%. The figure represents an increase from 63% in December and 56% in 2023.

Despite rising concern, voters’ fears about AI appear more abstract than personal.
While 59% believe AI will eliminate more jobs than it creates over the next five years, only 31% of employed voters say they are worried about losing their own job, with 69% reporting no concern.
The disconnect extends to workplace behavior.
Seven in 10 voters say learning how to use AI is not important to their career, including six in 10 among those currently employed.
The data indicates that while concerns about AI are rising, they are not translating into urgency at the individual level.
